About Detroit Halite Coffee Co.

Detroit Halite Coffee Co. is a coffee shop in Livonia, Michigan. East African coffee, mined in Detroit. Come to the bar for espresso and fresh brewed coffee from the highlands where coffee was born, roasted to order and poured by Detroit hands.

Take a bag home too: Motor, a dark East African espresso blend. Woodward, a medium dark house blend. Sankofa, a rotating single origin from Kenya, Rwanda, and Ethiopia. When it is gone, it is gone.

Named for the halite salt mined deep beneath Detroit, the brand is built on one idea: rare things, brought up from the dark. Your spot for specialty coffee and espresso in Livonia and Metro Detroit.

For table service a tip of 15–20% is customary; at counter-service places tipping is optional.

After a drive across the state we were looking for a quick place to grab a coffee. The staff was so friendly and custom made a special drink order. I learned a bit about the coffee roaster and where the beans come from and was able to purchase single origin fresh roasted coffee beans. I wish we lived closer as this place is a hidden gem.

Don’t get any food. Coffee was delicious and talking to the master roaster was very fun and informative!

Great coffee! I got to meet the owner and the chief roaster. They shared where they get the beans and the process. I will be back.
